Congratulations Dr. Julie Robillard – New Associate Director, National Core for Neuroethics

Dr. Julie Robillard

We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Dr. Julie Robillard, Assistant Professor of Neurology, as Associate Director of the National Core for Neuroethics at UBC effective September 1, 2017.

Dr. Robillard’s research focus is on the experience of health care innovation in dementia and mental health, and on the integration of artificial intelligence to deliver culturally- and socially-sensitive technology-based interventions for the promotion of brain health. In her new role as Associate Director, she will continue to conduct high impact research at the intersection of brain and mental health, ethics and technology. Dr. Robillard’s mandate as Associate Director will also include the promotion and delivery of patient engagement initiatives at the Core, building on her earlier work in this area, as well as training and mentoring outstanding new scholars in the field, and promoting the multidisciplinary leadership of the Core and UBC in Canada and on the international stage.

Dr. Robillard has been Assistant Professor of Neurology and Faculty of the National Core for Neuroethics and the Djavad Mowafaghian Center for Brain Health since 2014. She originally joined the Core as a Postdoctoral Fellow in 2010 after completing her PhD in Neuroscience at the UBC Brain Research Centre, and served as Interim Associate Director of the Core in 2013.
