Cody Lo recognized as UBC Wesbrook Scholar and awarded Premier Scholarship

C LoFourth year BSc. Pharmacology student and research associate at the National Core of Neuroethics, Cody Lo was recently recognized as a Wesbrook scholar and awarded the Carl Bradford Robertson Premier scholarship. These awards are the University’s most prestigious designations and are given to senior undergraduate students with outstanding academic performance, leadership, and involvement in student and community activities. Cody is one of only 20 students across all undergraduate programs to receive the Wesbrook award.

Cody is currently a co-author on multiple publications with the Core and is a two-time winner of the NextGen Voices essay competition in the journal Science. Additionally, he has placed 1st in the UBC Science Case Competition twice and has won multiple awards for his research presentations. Cody has given back extensively to the undergraduate research community at UBC, he recently co-founded and is currently the Co-Editor in Chief of the Canadian Journal of Undergraduate Research. He is also the Finance Team Lead on the organizing committee for the UBC Global Health Conference this year. In his free-time, Cody volunteers to promote health literacy amongst marginalized populations such as his work with infectious disease patients from the downtown eastside.
