Athletics are a central part of the lives of children, adolescents and young adults. Kids are engaging in athletics at younger ages and higher intensities than ever before, bringing a greater understanding of both the benefits and risks of athletic participation. Our latest knowledge has shaped some serious ethical questions.
Speakers will examine the benefits and risks of athletic participation and dive into the implications of inclusion and fairness – or the lack thereof. We will also discuss our roles as health care providers, parents and coaches in creating a healthy environment for children who participate in athletics.
Join the 16th Annual Pediatric Bioethics Conference where we will grapple with ethical issues raised by youth sports such as:
